Building Construction Timeline

 

2003

November

Executed contract, obtained building permit, prepared site, demolished brick classroom building (Nov. 25-26).  Grading.

 

December

Laid forms, roughed-in plumbing and electrical, poured slab, framed 1st, created floor system. 

 

2004

January

2nd fl. & interior framing, set trusses, roofing, plumbing rough, shingles, electrical/HVAC rough, fir ceilings.  “Dried in” goal reached 23Jan04.

 

February

Insulation, drywall, masonry, deck footings, external decks, doors & trim, texture ceilings. 

 

March

Exterior concrete, paint & stain, set cabinets, cedar shakes (porch)*, electrical & mechanical trim, hardware & fixtures, ceramic flooring.  Soffits frames in meeting room.*  Grading.  

 

April

Site cleanup.  Dodson-Chatman completes project by 4/9.  Hardwood flooring* 4/12-19.  Landscaping (including plantings required by the City)*.  Flooring*. 

 

May

Floor sanding and finishing (5/11).  Passed inspections: Landscaping, Building. 

 

June

Passed inspections: Fire marshall.  Installed new fire hydrant.  Complete punch-list.  23rd: Obtained certificate of occupancy.

Final cleaning.  First event held in new building on 7th of July.
