Annual Calendar

 

1st Month

·        Appoint the ad hoc committee to recommend names for the Nominating Committee.

·        Begin a new fiscal year:  Treasurer summarizes the prior year.

 

2nd Month

·        Appoint 2 new members to the Nominating Committee (2-year terms).

 

3rd Month

·        New Nominating Committee meets (to report in 5th month).

·        Publish an update to the Meeting Directory.

 

4th Month

·        Annual Meeting Retreat (organized by Ministry & Counsel).

·        Ministry and Counsel begins preparing answers to the Queries for Meeting of Ministry and Oversight (Yearly Meeting Faith & Practice).

·        Representative Body of N.C. Yearly Meeting (Conservative) meets at Woodland, NC.

 

5 th Month

·        Nominating Committee presents a report to monthly meeting (publish in the Newsletter).

·        Clerks of standing committees prepare annual reports by month end, sending copies to the Clerk, Recorder, and Newsletter Editor.

 

6 th Month

·        Nominating Committee report (amended) is considered in monthly business meeting.

·        Clerk prepares the annual report to N.C. Yearly Meeting (Conservative) on marriages, deaths, new Meeting members, and a summary of answers to Yearly Meeting queries from meeting for business. 

·        Child Education Committee members establish the summer schedule.

 

7 th Month

·        North Carolina Yearly Meeting (Conservative), usually during the 2nd or 3rd week.

·        Representatives appointed to plan Piedmont Friends Fellowship (PFF) Fall retreat.

·        Friends General Conference 'Gathering'.

·        First Day School coordinators begin planning for the Fall.

 

8 th Month

·        Complete any final business of the year, and respond to items of Yearly Meeting business.  (Not held if business can wait until 9th month.)

 

9 th Month

·        New officers and committees assume responsibilities.

·        First day school resumes. 

·        Publish the Meeting Directory.

 

10 th Month

·        Notice given for Annual Corporation Meeting in eleventh month.

·        Representative Body of NCYM meets at West Grove, NC.

 

11 th Month

·        Hold the annual meeting of the Corporation. 

·        Review progress toward meeting the current budget. 

·        Propose budget for the next calendar year.

 

12 th Month

·        Discuss, and hopefully adopt a budget for the coming year.
