Peace & Social Concerns Committee

 

Mission:                          This committee provides resources and guidance to members and attenders seeking ways to witness to Friends’ testimonies.

 

Number of members:  At least four appointed by Nominating Committee, including at least two continuing members, plus interested members and attenders.

 

Term of Commitment: Appointed members serve one-year terms.

 

Duties:    Members are persons who are aware of local, national and international concerns and can bring these to the attention of the Meeting community.  They facilitate such activities that will witness to the testimonies of peace, social equality, simplicity and harmony with the natural world. 

 

Qualifications:   An interest and willingness to work on peace and social issues.  This is a good committee for introducing new members and attenders to Friends concerns and practices.

 

Frequency of Commitment:  Monthly, or as called.
