Treasurer

 

Number appointed:     One Treasurer or two Co-Treasurers may be appointed.

 

Term of Commitment: Two years.

 

Duties:    The Treasurer pays all bills and commitments of the Meeting and monitors contributions to the Meeting. S/he should be ready to report at each business meeting on the state of the finances in relation to the year's budget.  S/he should also prepare a summary of the year's finances prior to the eleventh-month business meeting at which the Finance Committee presents a proposed budget for the forthcoming year.  S/he acts as Treasurer of the Corporation and files a statement of the Corporation's assets and liabilities yearly with the Meeting. The Treasurer serves ex officio on the North Carolina Yearly Meeting (Conservative) Finance Committee, which assists that body’s Treasurer in setting budget priorities and making spending decisions.

 

Qualifications:   This nominee should be comfortable dealing with money and financial accounts.  S/he should have the ability to balance accounts and to prepare a financial report for each monthly business meeting.

 

Frequency of Commitment:  The Treasurer is expected to attend each monthly business meeting, the annual corporation meeting, and all meetings of the Finance Committee.
